Margaret Louise Wilson Ruby Obituary


 






 Margaret Louise Ruby, 90, departed this life on January 4, 2020 at her home.
She was born December 12, 1929 to Levi Otis and Helen Mae Davis Wilson. Margaret was a graduate of Russell High School in 1948 and from Iowa Success Business School in Ottumwa.
On October 5, 1951, she was united in marriage to Glenn E. Ruby and to this union one son, Ronald E. Ruby, was born in Augsburg, Germany, where her husband was stationed with the U.S. Army. Glenn preceded her in death on December 31, 2004.
Margaret was employed at the Wapello County Clerk of Court's office for several years, until she moved to Augsburg, Germany with her husband. After Glenn was discharged from the service, they moved back to Ottumwa.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Russell. In her latter years, she attended Ottumwa Baptist Temple. Her favorite Bible verse was Romans 8:28.
Margaret enjoyed being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed attending their school events, ball games and dance recitals. She liked to read, write poetry and play the organ.
Margaret is survived by her son, Ron (Evelyn Eaves) Ruby of Ottumwa; grandchildren, Jennifer (Keenan) Bell, Benjamin (Katie) Ruby, Joseph (Jackie) Ruby and Jill (Scott) Todd; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Allison, Kain, Kylie, Maddox, Jack, Stella, Stevie Jean, Soren, Isaac and Noah; a brother, Ray (Jane) Wilson of Creston; nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Vernon Wilson and a sister, Norma Jean Kendall.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Travis Decker officiating. Burial will be in the Russell Cemetery.
Visitation will be open after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to Ottumwa Baptist Temple.
