Charles "Bill" Moore Obituary


 https://s3.amazonaws.com/CFSV2/obituaries/photos/5376/591867/5ba03b1f43655.jpgCharles William “Bill” Moore was born March 23, 1927 to William Randolph and Edna Belle (Hammond) Moore at their home in Rathbun, Iowa. He passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the Arbor Springs care facility in West Des Moines at the age of 91 years.
Bill attended the Brushy Country School , near his family’s farm. He had five brothers, Paul, Burnard, James, Donald, and Truman Moore and three sisters, Doris Ball, Evelyn Cronin and Grace McDonald. Bill was in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea from 1952 to 1953. He was in Korea when the war ended. On June 20, 1948, he was united in marriage to Maxine Mason. Maxine passed away in 1990. Bill later married, Dolores (Willson) Tierney in 1991.
Bill was a farmer and also worked for John Woodman Hardware. He held various offices with the REC, Rural Electric Co-Operative. Bill belonged to the American Legion for 64 years and was involved in many of the Legion's local events held in Russell, Iowa.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edna (Hammond) Moore; his first wife, Maxine (Mason) Moore. He is survived by his wife, Dolores (Tierney) Moore and many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Memorials may be directed to the Russell American Legion.

Steven L. Hawkins Obituary


 https://s3.amazonaws.com/CFSV2/obituaries/photos/5376/590408/5b918139e30d5.jpgSteven Leroy Hawkins was born September 26, 1951 to Harold and Dorothy (Davis) Hawkins in Chariton, Iowa. He passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018 in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 66 years.
Steven went to school and grew up in Russel, Iowa, He graduated from Russell Community High School in the spring of 1970. After graduation, Steven enlisted in the U.S. Army. He also attended two years at a community college. He had a career as a truck driver and drove for various companies. Steven retired from driving the big rigs in 2016. He lived his retirement years in Des Moines, Iowa.
Steven’s hobbies consisted of playing cards, a good game of pool, and was an avid reader. He enjoyed well spent time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by many. Steven was a member of the Russell Methodist Church in Russell, Iowa.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dorothy Hawkins; his brothers, Larry Hawkins, Dean Hawkins, Roger Hawkins, and Donald Hawkins. He is survived by his brothers, Robert (Marti) Hawkins of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mark Hawkins of Florida, and Gerald (Ann) Hawkins of South Carolina; his sisters-in-law, Joann Hawkins of Illinois and Mary Hawkins of Fairfield, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Memorials may be directed to the Diabetes or Heart Association.

Richard Esh Obituary

 Richard E. EashRichard Eash, 73, of rural Russell passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Legacy Lodge in Chariton. Services will be held Tuesday, September 4th at 11:30 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will be held following the services.

Richard will be greatly missed by his wife, Teri Lynne Eash; children: Jared (Raquel) Eash, Scott (Michelle) Eash, and Kathleen (Sven) Raeder; six grandchildren: Tyler, Courtney, Trever, Tanner, Jayden, and Alexander; two great grandchildren: Eden and Kacen; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents: Dwight and Mildred Eash; and siblings: Rosemary Kelderman, Charlotte Weitzell, and Janie Ewalt.
