Harold Lord Sr. of Fairfield, formerly of Melrose, passed away September 19, 2017 at the age of 87. Services will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in care of Harold’s family.
Harold Frank Lord Sr. was born May 22, 1930 to George and Cordia Morgan Lord in Fredrick, Iowa. Harold was raised alongside his four sisters. He attended both Frederick and Melrose country schools.
In February of 1963, Harold was united in marriage to Frances Wilson. The couple was blessed with six children: Harold Jr., Mirza, Cordia, Angalia, Shelia, and George.
Harold was a farm hand, a door to door salesman, and he retired from Maytag after 38 years of employment.
Harold is survived by his wife, Frances Wilson; daughters: Mirza Lord, Cordia Hunt, Angalia Lord, and Shelia Lord; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Florence Lord and Ruth Littleton; and many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his sons, George Lord and Harold Lord Jr.; sisters, Olive Howie and Anna Mae Lord; and his great granddaughter, Lillium May Mead.
