Shirley Ann Dixon, 83, of Lakewood, CO, passed into eternity at home, in the presence of loving family members Tuesday October 17, 2017 at 2:20 PM. She passed in comfort and peace looking up to heaven through her skylight as if God Himself said, “Shirley, it is time to come home.”
She
was born to the late Kenneth and Theo Woods, Nov. 14, 1934 in Russell, IA. She
attended Russell Elementary and High School through the 9th grade. Shirley
married Floyd Dixon in 1950, and they lived together in Russell, IA, before
relocating to Lakewood, CO in 1978.
Shirley
worked as secretarial assistant to her husband in his many contracting
endeavors and as restaurant owner/manager for several years in both IA and CO.
She
is survived by her husband of 67 years, Floyd Dixon, 2 sons, Richard Dixon and
Brad Dixon of Lakewood, CO and grandson (whom she raised) Joshua Dixon of
McKinney, TX. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great
grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Theo Woods,
sister Alene Smith and granddaughter Angel Olsen.
A
memorial/visitation will be held at the Belmar Church gymnasium at 460 S Kipling St, Lakewood, CO, Sunday October
22, 2017 3-5 PM. Drinks and food provided.
A
memorial/visitation will be held in Russell, IA in summer 2018 details will be
announced at a later date.
