Lloyd Dean Hull Obituary- July 21, 1945 - September 7, 2023

  

  Dean Hull, age 78 of Fonda, IA, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Fonda Specialty Care. Lloyd Dean Hull was born on July 21, 1945, to parents Sylvan and Helen (Sellers) Hull in Melrose, IA. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church. He grew up in Russell, IA, where he attended school. Dean graduated from Russell High School in 1966.

  On August 10, 1966, Dean was inducted into the United States Army Special Forces. He served during the Vietnam Conflict and was honorably discharged on July 30, 1969. Dean was very proud to have served his country and often talked about his time overseas. He was later blessed with a daughter, Tracie, who very quickly became his whole world.
  Dean farmed most of his life and especially liked John Deere tractors. Spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, made his heart happy. Dean loved socializing and was known to tell jokes. He loved making others laugh. He was a member of the American Legion in Onawa, IA, and also an active member of the Monona County Veterans Memorial Museum in Onawa. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
   Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tracie Hull (Chuck LaFoy) of Sac City, IA; grandchildren Aiden, Riddick, Camen, and Harold all of Sac City, IA, DeJah of Schaller, IA; sister Beth (Eddie) Edwards of TN; many extended family members and friends.
   Dean was preceded in death by his parents Sylvan and Helen Hull; and brother Marvin Hull.
