Richard Dean Shounkwiler, 55, of Blakesburg died at 2:21 p.m. July 9, 2021.
He was born March 3, 1966 in Knoxville, IA to Larry Dean “Dick” and Karen Collins Shounkwiler.
Richard had worked as a carpenter and at the counter of various car part stores.
He loved fishing, old cars and woodworking and enjoyed building cabinets.
He is survived by two sisters, Karlyn Messamaker (Pete Cogdill) of Blakesburg, Dixie Shounkwiler of Indianola; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Shounkwiler.
His body has been cremated.
Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 15, at Reece Funeral Home.
