A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be

Eileen was born August 16, 1949 to Arthur and Mary O’Dell Chase in Albia, Iowa. She grew up south of Russell on a farm. She attended country school through the third grade, then Russell School until graduating in the Class of 1967. After high school, she attended Americana Beauty School in Des Moines, IA where she earned her Beauticians license. Later in life, she worked for Walmart in Boone for 30 years.
She met John Hall on a blind date in Boone. Six months later, they married on November 1, 1969 and were blessed with daughters, Terri and Jerri.
Eileen was a woman who enjoyed gardening, canning, outdoor activities and sewing. Her creations included quilts, dresses, and jammies - which were often given as gifts to family and friends. She was a great cook; her specialty was comfort food. John and Eileen enjoyed getting lost together on Sunday drives and spending time in nature. She loved fishing and would more often than not catch more fish than John. They believed in the good life and that is exactly what they had.
She will be deeply missed by her husband John; daughters: Terri (Brian) Shuster and Jerri (Scott) Pearson; grandchildren: Lyndsay, Grant, Collin, Chloe, and Ryland; brothers: Robert (Barbara) Chase and Larry (Linda) Chase.
Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, and infant twin sister Darlene.

Steven Adam Neer was born on May 1, 1970 to Marvin and Sue (Abrahamson)
Neer in Knoxville, Iowa. He attended school in Russell from sixth grade
until graduating in 1989.
After graduation, he worked at HyVee part-time while gong to truck driving school. He then drove a truck for Brooks Trucking, then PDI where he worked for 26 years. He was also on the Russell Fire Department for 22 years from 1993 to 2014.
Steve married Robyn Schlutz in 1996 and to this union, they were blessed with two daughters: Avery and Emery. He later became engaged to Kellie Baker, and they have spent the last six years enjoying life together.
Steve was full of life, always finding the fun in everything he did. He was always grinning, especially when he was being ornery. He always had the best Christmas gifts, almost becoming a competition to see if he could one up everybody else. He was quite the jokester and loved to harass others in fun.
Steve enjoyed Sunday Fundays, which consisted of Busch Light and living life to the fullest. He loved to travel. His girls meant the world to him. He enjoyed following their high school softball tournaments, track and tennis. He also loved to ride motorcycles and enjoyed his boat after he got it. There was never a dull moment when Steve was around.
Steve will be greatly missed by his parents, Sue and Marvin; fiancé, Kellie Baker; his children: Avery (Riley) Collins, Emery Neer, Shelby (Kurt) Lucas, Emily (Weston) Conner, and Jessica Anderson (Zach Goemaat); grandchildren: Nora, Mia, Boone, and Lennex; siblings: Jim (Becki) Neer and Jeff (Mandy) Neer; nieces: Jessica, Marin, Nora, and Tori; nephew, T.J.; and his chocolate lab, Zeb.
The following is an announcement from his employer, PDI.
I am very sad to inform the PDI family that we have lost one of our own. Steve Neer, Route Driver, passed away yesterday while out on his route working for PDI. He was found parked in his truck where he passed away of unknown causes. Steve served PDI as a Route Driver faithfully for 26 years pulling loads out of the Chariton Distribution center. Kevin Gass, Senior Vice President Transportation stated, “Steve and his brother Jim were a team delivering to the Hy-Vee Stores in the Southern territory of Hy-Vee. Steve was a kind hearted person and as good of an employee as you can get. I am saddened for his family at his passing, he will be truly missed here at PDI.” Steve resided in Russell, Iowa and is survived by his fiance Kellie Baker and his two daughters, Avery Collins and Emery Neer, his parents Marvin and Sue Neer, and his brothers Jim and Jeff Neer.
Please keep Steve’s family in your thoughts and prayers.

Nathan Duane Stouwie was born July 2, 1944 to Ben and Dee (Humes) Stouwie in Hondo, Texas. He grew up in Pella, Iowa and attended the Pella Christian High School, graduating in 1962. He went to Dordt College for a year, then moved to Chino, California to play semipro baseball with the Chino Airvent Reds. Growing up in the 60’s, he always had a fast car.
In 1965, Nathan moved back to Iowa to run his dad’s milk route. He married Linda Ferguson in 1966, and to this union, they were blessed with three children: Sherry, Angie and Diane. Nathan played fast pitch and slow pitch softball for many years. He also enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and just being outdoors.
Nathan married Penny Butler in 2003. He was blessed to gain two more children: Amber and Dusty Butler. He was a truck driver for 57 years and never had any accidents. Twenty years of his trucking career, he drove for Hite Trucking. He found his second home with Hoy Trucking.
One of Nathan’s greatest loves was spending time with his family in Iowa and in Texas. He dearly loved his siblings. He loved to make people smile and laugh and was willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Nathan was known as “Dad” to over 100 young people in Russell, due to his love for kids.
Nathan had a quirky sense of humor. He said there were three women he feared. The first was his boss’ wife, because she wrote the paychecks. The other was his own wife, because she controlled the checks and credit cards. The third was his mom.
