Fred R. Dixon Obituary

— Fred Ray Dixon of Russellville passed into eternal rest with our Lord on July 20, 2017, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home. Fred was born to Guy Walter and Lillie Audrey Ruble Dixon on Jan. 30, 1936, in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Fred had been a resident of Russellville since 1971. He provided for his family as a local building contractor.

He was a member of Journey Church of Russellville. Fred spent the last two years as a resident of Deerview Nursing Center in Ola. In addition to his parents, Fred is preceded in death by a son, Bill Dixon; two grandchildren, Josh Dixon and Heather Dixon; a sister, Betty Cross; brother-in-law, Carl Cross; a nephew, Patrick Cross; also, a brother-in-law, James Andrews.

Survivors include wife, Lana Dixon of Russellville; a sister, Jacqueline Andrews; a brother and sister-in-law, Floyd Dixon and wife Shirley Dixon; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Raymond Pyner of Corydon, Iowa; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Lois Dixon of Chariton, Iowa; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sheryl Dixon of Lucas, Iowa; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Alan Atcheson of Olathe, Kan.; a daughter, Beverly Teague of Midland, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Pam Teague of Russellville; 23 grandkids and their spouses, John Buttz, James Buttz, Lori Buttz, Lisa Buttz, Ryan Pyner, Rebecca Escobar, Melissa Dixon, Mary Goben, Tommy Jessen, Andy Jessen, Peter Crane, Matt Dixon, Misty Schiltz, Mitch Dixon, Jodi Gray, Jen Balla, Nikki Wiggins, Ashley Ford, Cassidy Dixon, Brandon Selman, Caleb Selman, Dylan Teague, Victoria Teague; and 33 great-grandkids.

The family will receive visitors from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Lemley Funeral Service at 1401 N. Church St. in Atkins.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2017, at the Journey Church in Russellville, officiated by the Pastor Eddie Shaffer and under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service.
