Mary Lou Bingaman Obituary

Mary Lou Bingaman, 73, of Chariton passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Iowa Methodist
Medical Center in Des Moines.

Mary Lou was born to Charles and Eulice (Davis) Sims on May 8, 1941 in Marysville, Iowa. She attended elementary school in Marysville and graduated from Lovilia High School with the class of 1958. Mary Lou pursued a career in the travel industry, working for several different airlines and a travel agency. She retired in 1995 from American Airlines, where she made many longtime friends. 

Mary Lou was a fun person who enjoyed time spent with family and friends. She enjoyed having lunch with her friends and watching her grandkids sporting events. Friends may have known her as Mary Lou, but she will always be Momma Lou to her grandchildren. Laughter was never too far away when Mary Lou was in the area. Lunch dates with her friends always included laughing and giggling. She enjoyed mowing her yard with her zero turn lawn mower and walking around the farm. 

Survivors include her companion Dean Jones of Chariton, brother, Bob Sims of Russell, sister, Barbara Bauman of Cabool, Missouri and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Bingaman, sister, Betty Ann Sims, sister-in-law, Gwen Sims and a brother-in-law, Richard Bauman. 

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton with Rev. Brent Hanna officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior form 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in Weller Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Legacy Lodge in Chariton.
