Lova Devee Storm Obituary

Lova Devee Storm was born in Wayne County, Iowa on February 19, 1923. She was the daughter of Lester and Floy (Guthrie) Thatcher. Lova departed this life on April 5, 2014 at the West Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center in Knoxville, Iowa, at the age of 91 years.
Lova grew to womanhood in Russell, Iowa and graduated from Russell High School, class of 1941.
On November 23, 1947 Lova married Charles Lloyd Storm in Russell, Iowa. They shared over 66 years of marriage together before Charles’ passing in December of 2013.
Baptized at an early age at the Russell Baptist Church, after her marriage she and Charles joined the Church of the Nazarene and was an active lifelong church member.
Although Lova and Charles had no children of their own, they were a constant influence in the lives of their many nieces and nephews. Lova was a devout woman and truly enjoyed working in her church helping with whatever needed done. Lova enjoyed sewing and craftwork. Lova loved babies and many received quilts and afghans made by her loving hands. Lova enjoyed cooking and taking food to many church gatherings and family dinners.
She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years Charles, her parents, her brother Leo and a nephew Mark Thatcher.
Lova leaves to mourn her passing a sister-in-law Bonnie Thatcher, brother-in-law Floyd Storm and wife Della, sister-in-law Joanne Davidson, and sister-in-law Guyletha Storm all of Chariton, sister-in-law Connie Storm and sister-in-law Cleo Storm both of Knoxville; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Lova will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 9th at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville.
Lova’s service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the Church of the Nazarene of Knoxville, with Pastor Greg E. McClain officiating. Lova’s family will be present one hour prior to service time.
She will be missed by all who knew her. Memorial contributions can be made to the Church of the Nazarene of Knoxville. Condolences may be sent to www.winfieldfh.com. The Winfield Funeral Home is assisting Lova’s family with services.
